of old friends, scraped cars and wacky motivation

1. A message at 6 am asking me to go to the mamak: it's so unlike of her. And then she explains that she hasn't slept the whole night. Then it makes sense. Some things just don't change.

2. Finally, after repeated attempts, i manage to recall facts about identifying bacteria. It's an accomplishment i'm very proud of.

3. On a whim, recalling how Snape looked into the eyes of the woman he loved as he lay dying, i read the final few chapters of Deathly Hallows again. After that, I read JK Rowling's brief prequel to Harry Potter.

I smile to myself when i read about the "long black hair", "insolent good looks" and "glasses." It's like seeing an old friend. I wish there were more.

It may be a overcommercialized, unsophisticated child's story - but there's heart to it.
